Commission terms

By commissioning me, you agree to these terms.

Payment
- 50% deposit to start. The rest is due before I send the final file.
- I take PayPal.

Progress and revisions
- 2 free revisions at the sketch stage.
- Changes after the sketch is approved may cost extra.
- You'll see a WIP at sketch, color, and final.

Timeline
- Finished pieces take 2 to 4 weeks.

Refunds and cancellation
- Full refund before I start. Half refund after the sketch. No refund after line art.
- I can cancel a commission at any time and refund what I haven't finished.
- A chargeback ends the commission and any future ones.

Usage
- Personal use is included. Commercial use costs extra, ask first.
- Fine to use on stream, as a VTuber asset, or as a profile picture.
- Credit me when you post it.
- No reselling or redistributing the art.
- No AI training, AI edits, or NFTs.
- I may post the finished piece and WIPs in my portfolio.

What I draw
- No NSFW.
- Send clear references. I can't draw what I can't see.

Common questions

What should art commission terms of service include?

Payment and deposits, how many revisions are free, how long a piece takes, refunds and cancellation, usage rights (personal, streaming, commercial), credit, and what you will and won't draw. Artists often add a line on AI training and chargebacks.

Should I take a deposit or full payment upfront?

Both are common. A deposit (often 50%) starts the piece and the rest is due before the final file. Full payment upfront is simpler for small pieces.

How do I handle commercial use in my ToS?

Say whether commercial use is included, costs extra, or isn't allowed. Streaming and VTuber use are usually listed separately from merch and resale.

Where do I put my commission ToS?

Anywhere clients look before they ask: a Carrd, a pinned post, a Google Doc, or a card on your SievePage next to your queue.

Is this ToS legally binding?

It's a starting point, not legal advice. Clients agree to it by commissioning you, and it sets expectations up front.
