Getting paid with payment links
Make a payment link for a commission, send it wherever you talk to your client, and get paid through PayPal. The link stays on that commission's card.
Make a link
You need PayPal connected under Account settings first. Then open a commission card, and under its commission details:
- Tap Create payment link
- Enter the amount for that piece, in your PayPal currency
- Tap Create link
Payment links aren't offered while your page is in waitlist mode.
Make one link for the full price, or one for a deposit and one for the rest.
Send it
Tap Copy link and send it to your client, like in a Discord DM or an email. They don't need an account.
Tap Void to cancel a link. Deleting the card cancels its open links too.
How your client pays
The link opens a pay screen with the amount and PayPal's buttons.
- They pay through PayPal. That's PayPal, Venmo where it's offered, or a debit or credit card through PayPal. No SievePage account needed.
- Card details stay with PayPal. We never store them.
- You both get a notification once the payment goes through.
Get your money
The money goes straight from your client into your PayPal account. SievePage isn't a bank or broker. Refunds and disputes are between you and your client. See the Terms.
Questions
Can I refund or cancel a link? Void a link that hasn't been paid and your client can't pay it any more. Once it's paid there's no refund button for links, so refunds are between you and your client. A full refund in PayPal shows on the link as Refunded.
Does my client get a receipt? They get a thank-you email from SievePage with the amount and the piece, as long as the payment gives us their email address.
What happens to a deposit if I cancel the commission? Nothing happens to it automatically. The deposit stays on the card as paid, and any money back is a refund you sort out with your client.
What if I can't finish a commission? Tell your client as soon as you can, and refund what they paid in PayPal. If you don't, your client can open a dispute with PayPal.
