Commission Requests

Visitors can send you a commission request from your page. They don't need a SievePage account, and nothing reaches your board until you accept it.

Turning it on

Open the options menu in the status row and flip Commission requests on. It starts off.

The button only appears while your page is set to Open or Waitlist. Your commission status covers what those mean.

Two settings:

  • Minimum budget: the lowest budget you'll consider. Anyone asking for less is told before they finish.
  • Where requests land: the column an accepted request becomes a card in.

What they send

What they want in their own words, and an email address. Optionally their name or handle, the kind of piece, their budget, when they need it, whether it's personal or commercial, and reference links.

They confirm the email before the request reaches you. An unconfirmed request never appears in your queue.

Working through the queue

A badge appears in your status row when requests are waiting. Each shows their words, budget, work type, and deadline.

  • Accept: becomes a card in the column you picked, with their words and refs on it.
  • Decline: leaves the queue. You can add a private note. Nothing is sent to them.
  • Reply: opens your mail app with their address filled in.

Unanswered requests expire after two weeks.

What stays private

A client is named publicly only if they ticked that box themselves. It's off by default and you can't turn it on for them. Their email address never appears on your page or on the card.
