Processing Payments on SievePage

Direct payment is only available to Asteroids tier and above. Connect your Stripe account to allow Supporters to pay you. SievePage takes no fee.

In keeping with the values of SievePage, our payment feature allows you to retain full control over your commission process. Commission terms and conditions, customer support, chargebacks, disputes, and all other commission-related support will be handled by you. If you receive a dispute with a Stripe payment, refer to Stripe's dispute guides or contact Stripe directly. We'd love to hear from you if we can be of service. 💌

Setting up payments

1. Enter your account details and enable payment processing

  • Make sure you have entered a SievePage display name, username, and website for your Supporters.
  • Under your email, click Create Stripe Account.
    • If you already have a Stripe account, this will connect it to SievePage and create a SievePage-connected Stripe account on your Stripe dashboard.
    • If you don't have a Stripe account, this will prompt you to quickly set one up for free.

2. Set up your SievePage-connected Stripe

  • A new window will open asking you to sign into your Stripe account.
  • Stripe will ask for account details (email, password), business or personal details (location, whether you're a business or individual), and professional details (bank account for payouts).
  • Enter Public Details such as business name, phone number, and address. Supporters can see this information when they complete a payment.
  • Once all the necessary information is provided, you will be redirected back to your SievePage, and you're now ready to start earning.

3. Share your SievePage with Supporters

  • A Tip button appears on your public page next to your website link.
  • Visitors can pay you directly by clicking the Tip button.
  • A popup will prompt Supporters to enter an amount and a message. Stripe handles all payment details.

4. Payment completion

  • Both parties receive an email notification after a successful payment.
  • You can view the amount and message under Account > My Earnings. The amount is also visible in your Stripe dashboard.

Managing your Tip button

You can enable or hide the Tip button at any time. Go to Account > Payments and Orders and toggle the setting on or off.

Stripe payout schedules depend on your location and business type, typically a rolling 2, 4, or 7-day schedule. You can also set it to transfer instantly for a fee. See Payout Settings in your Stripe Dashboard for details.

How do Supporters pay?

Supporters pay using their card through Stripe. The Tip button appears next to your website link in the upper left of your page.

One-time payments: Supporters enter their card details at checkout. Funds go directly to you upon successful payment.

Recurring payments: Supporters can save their details during the initial payment for easier future payments. They will need to provide a phone number for verification. After saving, Supporters can use the same email and complete a one-click checkout via phone verification.

Supporters' payment details are securely stored by Stripe and can be managed by the Supporter directly.

What do I need to use Stripe on SievePage?

Stripe works for individuals, sole proprietors, and businesses of any size, and is available in over 40 countries. Once connected, you'll have access to a Stripe dashboard to manage payments, payouts, and refunds.

SievePage takes no fee. Earnings go straight to you. Stripe charges standard transaction fees that vary by account type, location, and currency, typically around 2.9% + $0.30.

If you receive a dispute, refer to Stripe's dispute guides or contact Stripe directly. We're also happy to offer advice on how to avoid chargebacks in the future.

What personal information is shared when a Supporter pays?

We typically only require a name and email to complete a payment on SievePage. We are extremely cautious and respectful of your privacy.

Payments go directly from the Supporter to you via Stripe. Stripe controls what appears on bank statements and in the Stripe dashboard. Details such as legal name, email address, bank, and portions of the billing address are available to the Stripe account holder, the same as any standard e-commerce transaction.

SievePage is not a financial institution or broker of any kind. We only display transactions in USD at this time. If there are any issues, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here for you! 💌
